By configuring the Parental Control Settings on your digital box, you can limit what kind of content can be viewed by those individuals who do not have access to the PIN (Password). You can limit this content based on its ratings (PG, Mature, Unrated), or by the channel on which it appears. By setting Parental Lock codes, you can control what kinds of programming your family has access to.  Depending on your cable box, you can block access to specific types of TV content: Violence, Suggestive Dialogue, Sexual Situations and Language.

Access Parental Control Settings

To manage your Parental Control Settings on the Shaw Gateway:

  1. Press the MENU button on your Shaw Gateway Remote
  2. Navigate to the Settings category, scroll to Parental Controls, and press OK

  2. Choose the Settings icon from the menu that appears
  3. Select Parental Controls

Access Parental Control Settings

To manage your Parental Control Settings on the Shaw Classic Guide:

  1. Press MENU/SETTINGS twice on your Shaw Remote to display the Main Menu in a full screen
  2. Press the DOWN arrow until you reach Setup
  3. Press OK
  4. Navigate to the Parental Control Setup option using the arrow buttons
  5. Press OK
