Logging into your WiFi modem allows you to configure various settings on your Shaw WiFi Modem, which includes (but is not limited to) changing your WiFi network password, your SSID name and the broadcasting channel upon which your WiFi Modem operates.
To change the router settings for your Shaw WiFi Modem (branded Cisco or SMC), log into your router configuration menu by following these steps:
Open an Internet browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.) and locate the address bar
In the address bar, type in the following: 192.168.0.1 and hit the enter key on your keyboard.
- You will be presented with either an SMC or Cisco log in page, depending on the manufacturer of your WiFi Modem.
Enter the following information:
Password: Locate the sticker on your modem which provides this information. The password may be referred to as the: Passphrase, S/N, Pre-Shared Key or Password (note: the password is case-sensitive, so please enter the password as it is printed exactly on the sticker, including upper-case letters)
Select the Login button
Note: If your Shaw Modem is in bridged mode (connected to a third party router or similar networking device), you will not be able to log into the WiFi Modem settings. If you are unsure whether the Modem is in bridged mode, please Chat online or Contact us for technical support.
