Learn how to check the connections of your Shaw Digital Phone Terminal (DPT). While your Shaw Home Phone Service was installed by one of Shaw’s professional installation technicians, a situation may arise where you will need to verify the connections leading to and from your Shaw Digital Phone Terminal.

How to check your connection

Follow these steps to check the connection of your Shaw Digital Phone Terminal.
 

  1. Identify which Digital Phone Terminal model you are using. Shaw uses two models:
    • the Motorola SBV5220
    • the Arris TM602 (both are featured below).
      Click on their names for a visual guide to each DPT if you are unsure of which model is in use at your home.
  2. Once you have correctly identified which model is in use, please refer to the diagrams below for a visual explanation of the wiring which will include the power, cable (coaxial) and at least a single (1) phone line.
