    Here we'll cover everything needed to get your Shaw email setup on an Android device. All of the required Settings are below, followed by a detailed walk-through under Instructions.     The settings included below are for an ActiveSync (Exchange) account, which is our recommended setup. For different account types, such as IMAP and POP, please see the Account Types section.

     

    Account type: Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
    Email addressYour Shaw email address
    Domain\user name*shaw.ca\username, Shaw username only, or full Shaw email address

    Instructions

     

    The settings included below are for an ActiveSync (Exchange) account, which is our recommended setup. For different account types, such as IMAP and POP, please see the Account Types section.

     

    1. Launch your Email App
      1. Open the App drawer on your Android device
      2. Select Email
    2. Add an email account (Example 1)
      1. If this is the first email account to be configured on your device, you will be provided with a setup screen. If this is not the first email account to be set up, select Menu / More - Settings - Add Account
      2. Enter your Shaw email address and password
      3. Select Manual Setup
      4. Select Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync (Example 2)
    3. Verify server settings (Example 3)
      1. Email address: Your Shaw email address
      2. Domain/User name*: shaw.ca\username
      3. Password: Your Shaw email password
      4. Exchange Server: wm.shaw.ca
      5. Use Secure Connection (SSL): Yes (add a check mark)
      6. Use Client Certificate: No (no check mark)
    4. Confirm additional account settings
      1. Choose sync settings (Example 4)
      2. Choose account name (Example 5)
    5. Select Done or Finish

     

    *User name: your Shaw email without @shaw.ca

    Which Email Setup is Right for Me?

     

    There are three different ways you can set up your Shaw email account on your device or email client. These include ActiveSync (Exchange), IMAP, and POP. Generally, we suggest using the ActiveSync email setup method, but each has its own benefits.     IMAP Instructions

     

    1. Launch your Email App
      1. Open the App drawer on your Android device
      2. Select Email
    2. Add an email account
      1. If this is the first email account to be configured on your device, you will be provided with a setup screen. If this is not the first email account to be set up, select Menu / More - Settings - Add Account
      2. Enter your Shaw email address and password
      3. Select Manual Setup
      4. Select IMAP Account
    3. Verify incoming server settings
      1. IMAP server: imap.shaw.ca
      2. Security type: SSL
      3. Port: 993
      4. User name: Shaw email without @shaw.ca
      5. Password: Your email password
    4. Verify outgoing server settings
      1. SMTP server: mail.shaw.ca
      2. Security type: TLS
      3. Port: 587
      4. User name: Shaw email without @shaw.ca
      5. Password: Your email password
    5. Confirm additional account settings
      1. Choose sync settings
      2. Choose account name and display name
    6. Select Done or Finish

    POP Instructions

     

    1. Launch your Email App
      1. Open the App drawer on your Android device
      2. Select Email
    2. Add an email account

    3. Verify incoming server settings

      3. Port: 995
      4. User name: Shaw email without @shaw.ca
      5. Password: Your email password
    4. Verify outgoing server settings
      1. SMTP server: mail.shaw.ca
      2. Security type: TLS
      3. Port: 587
      4. User name: Shaw email without @shaw.ca
      5. Password: Your email password
    5. Confirm additional account settings
      1. Choose sync settings
      2. Choose account name and display name
    6. Select Done or Finish
