How to enable Safe Search in BlueSky TV

Safe Search allows you to prevent adult channels from appearing in search results of your BlueSky TV Guide. Learn how to enable Safe Search with these steps.

Did You Know


Safe Search is turned on by default in BlueSky TV.  If you say “Safe Search” in the voice remote you will be taken to the guide listings search in BlueSky TV. You need to use the Parental Controls settings to access the Safe Search option.

Turning safe search on/off


  1. Press the Shaw button on your remote control.
  2. Using the right arrow button, scroll over to highlight Settings. Press the OK button. 

    BlueSky TV > Menu > Settings
  3. Use the down arrow button to highlight Parental Controls. Press OK

    BlueSky TV > Settings > Parental Controls
  4. If you have already set up a Parental Control PIN, you will be prompted to enter your four-digit Parental Control PIN. Use the number buttons on the remote control to enter your Parental Control PIN

    BlueSky TV > Menu > Settings > Parental Controls > Enter PIN
  5. Use the down arrow to highlight Safe Search. Press the OK button to toggle Safe Search on or off. 

    BlueSky TV > Parental Controls > Safe Search
  6. Press Exit to return to standard TV viewing. Or, press Last to return to the Settings menu.
