Learn how to change your preferences in Shaw Webmail. With preferences, you can edit your account settings, filters, spam settings, email signature as well as notification settings. Use Webmail preferences to access your contacts and calendars and set your Out of Office settings as well.

 

To access your Webmail preferences you will need to log into your Webmail account at https://webmail.shaw.ca/.

This article will provide an overview of:

 

 

Recent updates

The preferences options have been updated to give you more control over your Webmail experience. Here is a list of recent changes.

  • You can now adjust interface font size through the "General" section 
  • All search preferences have moved to the "General" section
  • The email compose direction can now be swapped to "Right to Left" 

    Webmail Preferences >Time Zone and Language
  • The search highlighter enable/disable preference has been removed
  • There is now an option to hide check-boxes on selected items in lists 
    Webmail Preferences > Other Settings
  • The "Receiving" and "Composing" email options have been consolidated under "Mail"
  • The following additional sections have been added to the "Preferences" menu:
    • Accounts - Manage your primary account settings
    • Signatures - Create and edit your email signature
    • Filters - Create and edit email filters
    • Mobile Devices - Shows you any devices that you have associated with this email address
  • New Out of Office (vacation) settings have been added

Shaw Webmail Preferences > Out of Office

  • The address book preferences have been renamed as “Contacts
  • The password checker to enable off-net email sending (example: while using your Shaw email address through Outlook) has been removed as it is no longer required for that process

In General preferences within Shaw Webmail you can edit: Shaw Webmail Preferences

  • Sign in
  • Appearance
    • font
    • display font size
    • print font size
  • Time zone and language
  • Search settings
  • Other
    • scrolling 
    • display names in place of email address (when available)

Account preferences

You can manage your primary account settings within the Account preferences of Webmail. To access Account preferences:

  1. Login to Webmail at https://webmail.shaw.ca/
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Select Accounts from the options in the left menu

 

Within Account preferences, you can set what you want to appear in the "From" field of your email messages.

Mail preferences

To access Mail preferences in Webmail:

  1. Login to Webmail at https://webmail.shaw.ca/
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Select Mail from the options in the left menu

 

With Mail preferences you can access settings for:

  • displaying email messages
  • receiving messages
  • composing email messages
  • spam mail options

Out of Office settings

You can manage your Out of Office settings within the preferences of Webmail. To access Out of Office preferences:

  1. Login to Webmail at https://webmail.shaw.ca/
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Select Out of Office from the options in the left menu

 

This option allows you to enter an auto-reply message and set a time period for when you want to display the auto reply message.

Calendar preferences

To access Calendar preferences in Webmail:

  1. Login to Webmail at https://webmail.shaw.ca/
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Select Calendar from the options in the left menu

 

With Calendar preferences, you can access settings including:

  • Default View
    • Month view
    • Day View
    • Work Week View
    • 7 Day Week View
    • List View
  • Show reminders
  • Work week and hours
  • Create Appointments
