How to configure Gateway settings

The best way to access your Gateway settings is with the Ignite HomeConnect App (formerly known as BlueCurve Home App). You can change various settings on the modem, everything from WiFi passwords to parental controls, and more advanced settings—all from a convenient mobile app, or from your computer.

Mobile App

Download the free Ignite HomeConnect (Shaw) App (Apple App Store or Google Play) and sign in with your Shaw ID username and password.

Gateway Admin Tool

Alternatively, you can login to the Gateway via the Admin Tool to change settings that way. Note that some settings may not be available here, and must be changed in the Ignite HomeConnect App instead.

  1. Enter 10.0.0.1 into the address bar of your Internet browser.
  2. Log in to the modem with the following information:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: password
      (These are the default login credentials for the admin tool. If you have previously changed your password, use that instead).
  3. Click Login.

How to change WiFi name and password

  1. Open the Ignite HomeConnect App.
  2. Select Connect, then choose See Network.
  3. Select the Edit (pencil) icon at the top right.
  4. Your WiFi network details are displayed.
  5. Select WiFi Name or WiFi Password to change them.
  6. Once you're done, select Apply Changes, and you're all set!

Note: After making changes, you may need to choose your new network name or enter your new password on previously connected devices.

How to restart the Gateway

If you are experiencing home WiFi connectivity issues, you can restart your Ignite WiFi Gateway from the Overview section of the Ignite HomeConnect App.

  1. Open the Ignite HomeConnect App.
  2. Scroll down and select Restart Gateway.

  3. A message is shown confirming that you'd like to restart your Gateway.
  4. Select Restart to confirm.
  5. Your Gateway will now restart.

Note: This can take up to 10 minutes, during which you won't be able to use your home network, connect to the Internet, or stream video on certain TV boxes.

How to restore factory default settings

Using the Admin Tool, you can perform a factory reset which will delete all of your custom configurations, including any changes you made to your WiFi name, network password, and wireless channel settings.

Note: All of your settings will be lost. This should only be done on rare occasions or if advised by a Shaw support agent.

  1. Enter 10.0.0.1 into the address bar of your Internet browser.
  2. Log in to the modem with the following information:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: password
      (These are the default login credentials for the admin tool. If you have previously changed your password, use that instead).
  3. Choose Troubleshooting > Reset/Restore Gateway from the menu on the left.
  4. Choose Restore Factory Settings.
