The Shaw Go WiFi Finder App allows users to find local Shaw Go WiFi hotspots directly from their smartphone. With specific apps for the iOS, Android and BlackBerry platforms, finding and navigating to the nearest WiFi hotspot is as simple as launching the app and allowing it to determine your location. App Update: The Shaw Go WiFi Finder 1.0 app will no longer be available for download. Users who have already downloaded the app can still use it, but it will not be actively supported with new updates or locations. Android, iOS and BlackBerry users can download or update their app to version 2.0 here. Windows phone users can visit shaw.ca/wifi/locations for up to date WiFi hotspot information.

To find hotspots in your area, simply open the Shaw Go WiFi app which will display a map of any Shaw Go WiFi hotspots in your area (see below). Available hotspots will show up on the map as pins on the map. To direct the app to your location, press the target button on the screen (adjust your location). This will use the GPS information from your phone to provide a closer view of the hotspots closest to where you are currently located.
Once you have located a hotspot that you would like to use, you can access directions to this hotspot by tapping on the pin icon, then on the arrow next to the location’s name, and then choosing “Get Directions” from the menu that pops up (see screen 2 below).

You may be unable to auto-authenticate to the network if you exceed the number of devices you are able to connect to Shaw Go WiFi on your account. The number of devices you are able to connect depends on which Internet plan you are subscribed to. You can learn more about device limits by clicking on the following link:
If you exceed your device limit you will still be able to join the network, but you will not be auto-authenticated and will be required to sign in with your Shaw email address and password each time you connect to a Shaw Go WiFi hotspot.

The Shaw Go WiFi App allows direct integration with the default Twitter and Facebook apps on your phone to allow simple sharing of your favourite WiFi hotspots . To disable this access, please follow these steps:
- Open Settings on your phone.
- Select Twitter. A list of apps that are allowed to use your Twitter account are displayed at the bottom of the screen.
- Switch "ShawGoWiFi" to "OFF".
- Open the Facebook app
- Open the menu
- Select Settings
- Select Account Settings
- Select Apps and Websites
- Select Shaw Go WiFi
- Select Remove Application
- Confirm removal by selecting Remove
Note: To connect to a Shaw Go WiFi hotspot, you will need a Shaw.ca email address. If you do not have an @shaw.ca email address, you can create one via the My Account.
If you have an @shaw.ca email address but are still unable to aquire a working connection to a Shaw Go WiFi hotspot, please follow these instructions:
- If you appear to be connected but cannot access the Internet, move to another Shaw Go WiFi hotspot and report the location of the faulty hotspot to Technical Support (1.888.472.2222)
- If you can connect to the access point but don't have an @shaw.ca email address, visit My Account to create a shaw.ca email address and join the network
