Our services in areas throughout the region affected by wildfires are back online. However many areas are still under threat. We will continue to monitor and supply updates as we receive them, via this page. 

 

We have opened Shaw Go WiFi access to all residents in the affected areas. Please visit this link for further details

Cities and their surrounding areas that are currently experiencing service issues:

 

 

Williams Lake and 100 Mile House area | Cable TV services | Resolved

August 8th: 

7:20 AM PT: No Shaw services are impacted within the threatened areas at this time. Crews continue to monitor the affected areas.

 

August 2nd:

4:00 PM PT: There has not been any new developments at this current time. We will continue to monitor and provide any available information.

 

July 29th:

2:00 PM PT: Our Technical Operations team continue to monitor area for any new developments, no new updates at this time. 

 

July 27th:

9:50 AM PT: Technical operations teams continue to monitor area status. No new developments at this time. 

 

July 26th:

7:10 AM PT: No new changes in developments as our operations teams continue to monitor area status.

 

July 25th:

8:50 AM PT: Services were restored in the 100 Mile House area yesterday afternoon. As Williams Lake and surrounding areas are still under evacuation orders, our operations teams continue to remotely monitor status.

 

July 24th

2:00 PM PT: No changes in developments in the last 48 hours available at this time.

 

July 22nd

9:20 AM PT: No new impact to services have been identified since last update.  No further updates at this time.

 

July 21st

10:30 AM PT: No new impact to services has been identified since last update. Hubsite temperatures at both 100 Mile House and Williams lake remain stable.

 

July 20th

7:10 AM PT: No major updates as technicians continue to monitor for changes. Evacuated areas are still restricted. 

 

July 19th

2:00 PM PT: Mid day update. No updates on developments as areas are restricted. We hope everybody remains safe.

 

July 18th

7:00 AM PT: Technicians will continue to work when it is safely possible to work, pursuant to evacuation orders.

 

July 17th

7:15 AM PT: No major updates this morning as areas listed below continue to be evacuated. Technical teams continue to work and monitor service outages.

 

July 16th

7:25 AM PT: McLeese Lake to Kersley, City of Williams Lake and surrounding areas, Fraser River, Polley Lake, Moffat Creek & 150 Mile House are being evacuated. Please stay safe everyone.

 

July 15th

8:00 AM PT: Most areas are back online. Technicians continue their work on restoring services to those few areas still affected. Thank you for your patience.

 

July 14th

7:30 AM PT: There are a few fire ravaged areas where we haven't yet restored full services. Technicians continue their work.

 

July 13th

12:10 PM PT: Work continues in the area. We will provide more updates as soon as we have further information. Thank you.

 

July 12th

7:29AM PT: No further updates this morning. Work continues in the area, and we'll update as soon as we have further information. 

 

July 11th

9:00 PM PT:  Teams have completed some of the work in the area and remain working where they can.

7:05 AM PT: No new information to provide at this time. Access is still restricted, so our technicians are waiting for the all clear before they can begin repairs. We will continue to monitor for updates.

 

July 10th

10:00 PM PT: Technicians will start repairs for areas they are allowed to enter. We hope to have more information in the morning.

6:30 PM PT: No major updates at this time as areas are still restricted to police and firefighters. We appreciate your patience.

1:45 PM PT: Access to certain areas have now been restricted to police and firefighters. Teams are now working on preventing additional services from failing by keeping back up generators operating.

12:00 PM PT: Limited access in some areas of 100 Mile House due to evacuation orders.

8:00 AM PT: Our technicians continue all repairs that can safely be done for those remaining homes still without services.

 

July 9th

10:00 PM PT: Missoula Lake and Arrowstone Provincial parks are being evacuated. We'll have more updates in the morning. 

6:00 PM PT: Parts of 100 Mile House are being evacuated, technicians on site are conducting repairs in areas where they are able to. Stay safe everyone.

3:30 PM PT: Controlled burns occurring in 100 Mile House area, but we continue working towards a full resolution of services to this area when it is safe to do so. Thank you for your continued patience.

12:00 PM PT: Most homes are back online. Technicians will continue work on those remaining homes. 

9:00 AM PT: Work continues into the late morning/early afternoon.

7:00 AM PT: Our teams are continuing to work on restoring services this morning, working in partnership with local enforcement teams and BC Hydro.

 

July 8th

10:00 PM PT: Repairs will continue overnight. We are about to leave for the evening, but will be back at 7AM PT with more updates.

7:31 PM PT: We are now waiting on power to be restored to our equipment in this area. No ETA on this from BC Hydro, but we'll keep you updated regarding the status of these repairs.

4:30 PM PT: Work has begun in some areas but others are still unsafe due to the fire. 

2:05 PM PT: Technicians have advised that Internet and phone services are functioning in Williams Lake. Cable TV repairs are still underway.

 

 

Lillooet area | All Services | Resolved

July 15th

7:30 AM PT: While many customers might see slower internet speeds, services have been restored.

 

July 14th

7:30 AM PT: There are still some areas that are without services. Technicians continue to work to restore services.

 

July 13th

12:10 PM PT: Services have been restored for many customers in the area. However technicians continue to work to fully restore services and full capacity of the network servicing customers in the area, some customers may see slower than expected internet speeds.

 

July 12th

7:29AM PT: No further updates this morning. Work continues in the area, and we'll update as soon as we have further information. 

 

July 11th

9:00 PM PT: Work continues in the area and will continue into the evening as we work on getting  services up and running. 

7:05 AM PT: No new information to report at this time as BC Hydro crews continue to work to replace hydro poles damaged by fire. We will continue to monitor the situation for updates. Thank you for your patience.

 

July 10th

10:00 PM PT: Technicians still standing by. We will have another update in the morning.  

6:30 PM PT: BC Hydro crews continue to replace poles in the areas damaged by fire. We appreciate your patience.

1:45 PM PT: Work by BC Hydro continues on replacing poles in the areas damaged by the fire.

12:00 PM PT: No new developments at this time. 

8:00 AM PT: Technicians continue to work on repairing damage to our cabling caused by the fire. BC Hydro is installing new poles and we will will put up our cabling once they give the okay.

 

July 9th

10:00 PM PT: Technicians will continue working overnight and we'll have an update for you in the morning. 

6:00 PM PT: Technicians are still on-site working towards a resolution of services to this area.

7:28 PM PT: We still do not have access to repair the issue in Lillooet and surrounding areas, and are continuing to work with local authorities to gain access. Our apologies for the continued wait.

Prince George and Quesnel area | Cable TV and Internet services | Resolved

July 10th

8:00 AM PT: Fire related outages have been resolved. 

 

July 9th

10:00 PM PT: Technicians will continue working overnight and we'll have an update in the morning. 

6:00 PM PT: We continue to work towards a full resolution for services in this area.

3:30 PM PT: Thank you for your continued patience while we work to restore services as soon as possible.

7:00 AM PT: Progress has been made overnight and most customers have been restored in Prince George and Quesnel.

8:27 PM PT: Quite a few repairs are required for services to be restored in this area. We continue to work towards a resolution.

6:00 PM PT: Work has begun in Prince George. 

4:00 PM PT:  Technicians have been advised it is not safe to enter the area.  Work will begin as soon as they are given the clearance. 

2:40 PM PT: Customers may be experiencing issues with their Internet and Cable TV services. We are working to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.

12:56 PM PT: Technicians have advised that phone services are functioning in Prince George and Quesnel. We wait for other services to be restored.

 

Kelowna | All Services | Resolved

July 9th

10:40 AM PT: Our teams in the area have been able to mitigate the challenges. Services have been restored.

9:00 AM PT: Hard work continues to restore services to this area.

7:00 AM PT: Repairs continue into the morning for the affected customers in the Lakeshore area of Kelowna.

 

July 8th

10:00 PM PT: Repairs will continue overnight. We are about to leave for the evening, but will be back at 7AM PT with more updates.

8:34 PM PT: We continue to wait for access to this area, keeping in communication with local authorities to know when it's safe to work.

7:33 PM PT: Power has been restored to our equipment in this area, but we are still awaiting access to begin repairs. Thank you for your patience.

4:30 PM PT:  Teams have been advised it is not safe to enter the area yet, they are standing by to begin work when able.

4:00 PM PT:  Technicians have advised that Internet, Television and Phone are having issues in the area currently.   

 

Vernon | All Services | Resolved

July 12th

9:52 AM PT: Technicians have completed work, and all services in Vernon are now restored. Thanks for your patience!

7:28 AM PT: Some customers in the Vernon area may be experiencing interruptions to their Shaw services. We are working to resolve this as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
