The Town of Claresholm and Shaw Communications have been working together throughout 2017 to identify opportunities to improve the community’s communications infrastructure using new and upgraded equipment as part of our commitment to providing residents and customers with the best service possible.
In particular, three new builds have been undertaken over the past month to add capacity and connectivity to Shaw's network in Claresholm and deliver improved services to all of our residential and commercial customers in the area. The bulk of this work began over a month ago, with additional upgrades being undertaken roughly two weeks ago.
As this new capacity becomes available, some customers may experience brief periods of disruption, and both the Town of Claresholm and Shaw Communications have heard some concerns from customers who have experienced such interruptions.
In order to ensure the least possible disruption, most of the upgrade work is taking place during the late night when Internet usage is at a minimum for both homes and businesses.
We will continue to work together to share information on these network upgrades to residents and Shaw customers, including timelines, as it becomes available.
