Find information on the BlueCurve Gateway including key features, available connections and hardware specifications. The BlueCurve Gateway is available to eligible customers in the Okanagan as of December 4th, 2017, and to customers in Calgary and surrounding areas as of January 15th, 2018.



Overview and features

The BlueCurve Gateway has an updated design and comes equipped with the latest WiFi technology.

Key features of the BlueCurve Gateway include:

  • Quick and easy WiFi setup
    The Gateway will walk you through setting up your WiFi network upon first time setup. Just open a web browser and follow the step-by-step instructions.
  • WiFi enhancements
    Reach further and faster. The Gateway comes with the latest WiFi technology to ensure you stay connected.
  • DOCSIS 3.1 Compatible
    The BlueCurve Gateway is Shaw's first DOCSIS 3.1 gateway, paving the way for future speed and network capacity requirements.

Light sequence

The BlueCurve Gateway has a single light on the top to indicate the modem status. The light will be a solid white colour when the modem is up and running. If the modem is reset, it will go through the following sequence of lights as it reboots:

Device off

BlueCurve Gateway - amber solid light

Amber (solid)

Booting up (first stage)

BlueCurve Gateway - amber flashing light

Amber (flashing)

Downstream registration

BlueCurve Gateway - green flashing light

Green (flashing)

Upstream registration

BlueCurve Gateway - red solid light

Red (solid)

Booting up (final stage)

BlueCurve Gateway - white solid light

White (solid)

Modem online and functional

Available connections on the BlueCurve Gateway include two Ethernet ports for hardwired devices, and dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz and 5GHz). Telephone ports are present on the modem, but are disabled and not in use at this time. There are also factory reset and WPS buttons for resetting the modem and connecting devices via WPS.
