Installation instructions
  1. Make note of the modem’s Network Name and Password
    • You’ll find the Network Name (SSID) and Password on a sticker at the bottom of the modem. Your SSID begins with SPSETUP. You will need these to set up your WiFi network later.

  1. Find the right spot to place your modem.
    • Choose a central location in your home
    • Must be near a cable and power outlet
    • Ensure it is visible and elevated off the ground
    • Avoid placing in a cabinet or hiding behind another object
    • Avoid basement and underground locations
    • Away from appliances, electrical equipment, and metal stainless steel objects

  1. Connect your modem.
    1. Connect the coax cable to your modem and the wall cable outlet. Make sure the connection is hand-tightened.
    2. Connect the power cord to your modem and the wall power outlet.
    3. The modem will automatically try to activate. This process can take from 5-20 minutes. When you see modem lights alternating between green and yellow or you see a solid white light, please move on to the next step. If you only see a solid yellow light or no lights at all, please chat with us .

  1. Set up your WiFi network.
    • Access the WiFi settings on your personal device, then select your modem’s Network Name (SSID) and join using the password from step one. Once connected, open your Internet browser and go to any website. You will be automatically redirected to a network setup page where you can customize your network name and password.

Note: If you are not automatically redirected to the network setup page, type 10.0.0.1 in your web browser address bar to get to the network set up page. (If requested, enter the default Username: admin and Password: password)

  1. Reboot the modem.
    • Once the light on the modem turns white and remains white for 60 seconds, unplug the modem for 10 seconds and plug it back in. This power cycle will ensure the latest update takes effect right away. Once the light on the modem comes on as white again, please proceed to the next step.

  1. Connect your devices to WiFi.
    • Access the WiFi settings on all of your devices, select your modem’s new Network Name (SSID) and join using the new password. You’re now ready to go.
