The MP2150 is the new generation of Portal available with your Shaw Gateway unit. This version is the same as the MP2000 unit, however it supports a IR Tethering and has a touch screen interface on the front of the unit.
The Portal accesses content from the Shaw Gateway system and is required for each TV in the home that you wish to access the system on. With the Portal connected to your TV, you can view HD channels and full HD quality 1080p Video On Demand content made available to you through your Shaw Gateway system. In addition to this, you can record up to 6 programs simultaneously while playing back a previously recorded program, and view 3D* content in MPEG4 format up to 1080p resolution.
To view in HD: Connect an HDMI cable between your TV and Portal for HD picture and audio (HDMI carries both picture and audio). Alternatively, you can connect a component (red, green, blue) cable for video, and an RCA (red, white) cable for audio.
If you do not have an HD TV (i.e. component or HDMI ports are not available on the input panel of your TV): connect an RCA/composite (red, white, yellow) cable between your TV and Portal. You will be able to view and access HD channels, however the picture will be displayed in standard definition.
