Microsoft Exchange email setup

Setting up your email using Microsoft Exchange is the recommended method as it offers advanced mail handling, less confusion for accounts connected to multiple devices, and synchronization of calendars and contacts. Follow the instructions below to send and receive emails on your Motorola Moto X phone using an Exchange server.


  1. Ensure that your email account password meets the minimum security requirements
  2. Tap the APPS icon
  3. Select Settings
  4. Under Accounts, touch +Add Account
  5. Select Email
  6. Enter your Shaw email address and password
  7. Tap Manual Setup
  8. Select Exchange
  9. Enter the following:
    • Domain/Username: Your email address
    • Server Address:
    • Use Secure Connection (SSL): Yes (add a check mark)
    • Accept all SSL Certificates: Yes (add a check mark)
  10. Choose Next
  11. Choose which servics you would like to sync (Mail, Contacts and Calendar)
  12. Tap Next
  13. Enter an account name and select Done to finish setup

WiFi setup

Set up WiFi on your Motorola Moto X phone by following these steps:


  1. Turn on WiFi by touching the APPS icon
  2. Select Settings
  3. Tap the WiFi power switch to enable WiFi
  4. Drag down the status bar from the top of the screen and touch WiFi networks available
  5. Select the network that you would like to connect to
  6. Enter the network password (unless the network is open and does not require a password)
  7. Press Connect

If you are connecting to your home Shaw WiFi network and have a Shaw WiFi modem, you can find the network name (SSID) and password located on the white sticker on the back or bottom of your wireless modem.

Did You Know?


If you have customized your network name (SSID) and/or password and can no longer remember the login credentials, you will need to restore it to factory settings.
