The Google Chromecast is a new device from Google that allows you to enjoy your favourite content that you access from a variety of apps and Google Chrome on your TV in HD. Below, you will find details on how to connect your Google Chromecast to your home Shaw network.

Google Chromecast setup on Shaw

  1. Plug one end of the USB power cable into your Chromecast, and the other end into the power supply, and then into a nearby power outlet


  1. If you do not have access to an open outlet, you can also power the Chromecast by plugging the USB power cord directly into an open USB port on your TV


  1. Plug your Chromecast into any open HDMI input on your TV

Connecting the Chromecast to Wireless Internet


In order to connect your Google Chromecast to your home wireless Internet, you will need to first obtain your wireless network name, and network password. If you are using a Shaw wireless modem, you can find this information listed on a white sticker the top of the device, labelled SSID and Passphrase/Password (example below).


When prompted, enter your network name and password to connect to your home Wireless Internet network.
