Issues using Mac Mail on OS X Yosemite

We are currently aware that customers using Shaw.ca email configured in Apple Mail on the release of the new Mac operating system, OS X Yosemite, may be experiencing difficulties with sending and receiving emails. 

 

If you have upgraded to OS X Yosemite and are experiencing difficulties, they may be related to how you set up your account, or whether your account was imported.  Please see the following for more details: 

 

 

Did You Know?

 

Your Shaw.ca email account would have been imported automatically with the upgrade of your Mac's operating system to OS X Yosemite. If you are experiencing problems with sending and receiving emails, the importing process may not have been completed correctly.

Setting up email in Apple Mail

There are several different ways you can set up your Shaw.ca email, including IMAP, POP, and ActiveSync (Exchange). Generally, we recommend that you use IMAP for Apple Mail. Issues with imported accounts in Apple Mail

If you've recently updated your Mac operating system to OS X Yosemite, your Shaw.ca email account should have automatically been added to Apple Mail. If you are experiencing problems with sending and receiving emails from your account, troubleshoot the problem by following the steps provided in OS X 10.10 Yosemite - Resolving Errors on Imported Accounts.
