In April 2014, Microsoft ended all support and security update releases for Windows XP. Our partners at McAfee continued to offer virus definition updates for the older McAfee Security Center 12.8 software, the final version provided to XP users.  McAfee has confirmed that sometime in 2016, these updates will be stopped, and therefore Windows XP support for McAfee Internet Security will come to an end.  At this time we do not have an exact date for this shutoff, but we will share it when we have this information.

Effective immediately, customers using computers with processors (CPUs) older than an Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent are no longer supported.  These older CPUs are unable to process the instruction set used by the current virus definition update packages provided by McAfee, resulting in errors during any update checks.  We apologize for any inconvenience to these users.
