Common error codes

Here is a list of the most common error codes you might see while using Ignite TV. Click any of the error code names in the left column for additional detailed information and troubleshooting tips.

Error 012 "Device activation has failed due to error:012. Please contact Shaw at 1.888.472.2222 for assistance"
XRE-00002 "Unable to connect to BlueCurve TV Please ensure the cables are tightly secured and unplug set-top box from electrical outlet. Wait 10 seconds, then plug back in to restart. XRE-00002."
XRE-07004 "Sorry, we're having some trouble. This program is not available to watch at the moment. Please try again in a few minutes."
XRE-07006 "Sorry, we're having some trouble. This program is not available to watch at the moment. Please try again in a few minutes."
XRE-07007 "Unfortunately, this program isn't available right now. Check back soon as our programming is updated frequently."
XRE-06014 "Sorry, we ran into a problem. This recording isn't available right now. Please try again later."
XRE-03063 "Sorry we're having some trouble. This channel is not available at the moment. Please select another channel and try this one a little later."
XRE-08004 "Cool Down Warning. Your TV Box needs to cool down. Please clear space around the TV Box for better ventilation. If the temperature continues to rise, your TV Box will automatically go into standby mode."
XRE-08006 "Something's not quite right. Let's try restarting your TV Box, which can often fix common issues."
XRE-06004 "Something's not quite right. Sorry, we're having trouble with your request. Please give us a few minutes and try again."
XRE-00088 "Sorry, we’re having some trouble. We’ve run into a problem that may be fixed by restarting your set-top box. Please wait a few minutes then press ok to restart."
XRE-09017 "Let's try that again. Sorry, we had some trouble with remote setup."
XRE-09015 "Would you like to use your remote to control your TV? Your remote isn’t set up for control of power, volume, or input. Press Set Up Now to control your TV or audio device."
XRE-03061 "Sorry we're having some trouble. This channel is not available at the moment. Please select another channel and try this one a little later."
APPS-04154 "Let's try that again. Sorry, that didn't work as planned. Please exit the app and open it again from the Apps menu."
XRE-06034 "Let's try that again. Sorry, we weren't able to delete your recordings. If you continue to have trouble, restart your set-top box then try deleting again."
XRE-09013 "Your remote is not paired with the set- top box. Press Setup until the red LED changes to green, then press Shaw."
RDK-03005 "Sorry, we're having some trouble. We've run into a problem that may be fixed by restarting your set-top box. Please wait a few minutes then press OK to restart."
XRE-09016 "Let's try that again. Sorry, we had some trouble with remote setup."
XRE-03045 "Check Connection. In order to watch on this TV, your Hub set-top box must be powered on. Please check that it's plugged in and working."
XRE-03047 "Let's try that again. We’re unable to tune to channel (Channel Name) at this time. Please wait a few minutes and try again."

Restart your Ignite Entertainment Box or TV Player

Restarting your Ignite Entertainment Box or TV Player can fix many technical issues that cause Startup and Guide errors.

  1. Unplug the Ignite Entertainment Box or TV Player power cord from the wall outlet or power bar.
  2. Wait 30 seconds, then plug the device back in.
  3. Wait for the Ignite Entertainment Box or TV Player to display the current time.
  4. Turn the Ignite Entertainment Box or TV Player on.
