Hey sean@38,
Excellent! It is one of our Advanced modems so no need to exchange it. Were you running into any technical troubles with modem itself however?
Harvey I have the Hitron modem bridged which works fine however my friend has the Cisco DCP3848V. It seems to have terrible signal strength and does not have 802.11 AC wireless. At least I could not find it as an option in the software. Are these modems equal in their antennae strength or is the Hitron better? She is being told she does not need to upgrade but these 2 modems do not seem equal to me. Can you shed some light on this please?
Hey sputnik
They pretty much are very similar. If you look in the settings in the Wireless section, select the Radio Settings tab and you should be able to find it located at Network Mode. If you are not seeing it listed, it is most likely she actually has this one Hardware Information - Cisco DPC3825 Internet Modem
Hello sean@38,
Shaw did release newer WiFi modems last year, they are the Advanced WiFi modems: Cisco DPC3848V Advanced WiFi Modem - Guide and Hardware Information - Hitron CGNM-2250 DOCSIS 3.0 Wi-Fi Modem. I am not sure if you have one of these modems, they both are similar in specs.
What troubles are you running into with your current modem? Do you know which model you have?
Cheers,
Harvey
