New Bluecurve modem and Chromecast

Hi there.  I've read all the posts with people having the same issue but I'm still stuck trying to...

- Cast laptop screen to a tv with a Chromecast device attached.

I have an older Chromecast plugged into a tv via HDMI

I have a laptop and use google Chrome

Normally I press the 3 dots (right upper portion of browser window) and select "cast"

Devices show up and I select "Living room" (previously set up)

Now I see "No Devices Found"

I understand band steering is an issue.  I split out the 2.4 and 5 ghz bands, named separately, reconnected laptop to 2.4 network

Still no devices found.

Shaw Tech help indicates to phone Google (?)

Any ideas after the band steering has been turned off?

I've also read about this AP Isolation settings but can't find it anywhere on the gateway app

Any replies appreciated!

Yes you prob have a newer version of CC

Mine is a chromecast V2 purchased in 2016 and I thought only supported 2.4  but I'm reading just now that it does support 5ghz so now I'm at a total loss!

Must be something subtle I'm missing

I've also tried another laptop and same behavior/problem. No devices found

@Carl76 -- a guess: did it work on an older Shaw cable-modem, before you switched to the BlueCurve?

If so, you may need to reconfigure the ChromeCast.
