@jill21forever -- are you using a computer with a CAT-5e (or CAT-6) Ethernet cable to connect to the Shaw cable-modem, or are you using WiFi?  Over the years, different WiFi adapters (inside a notebook computer, a desktop computer, or a smart-phone) have different speed capabilities:

  1. "G" -- up to 56 (or 112) megabits per second
  2. "N" -- up to 400 megabits per second
  3. "AC" -- up to 1200 megabits per second

When running the Shaw Speed Test, use an Ethernet cable (not the older "CAT-5") to connect directly to the cable-modem, not to any third-party router that connects to the cable-modem, to get the best numbers.

Also, contact Shaw Support. They can remotely logon to their cable-modem, to see if you are getting good "signal strength" being sent to the cable-modem.

"Up to" is such a joke. Ignite is up to 1.5gb? I don't trust that. None of my devices gets more than 200mb, and that's not even consistent. Usually just over 100mb. Old phone or computer, brand new phone or computer. Tv, Xbox, right beside the modem or further away. None of them get anywhere close to even 500mb.

It's a scam.
