@lorimarv -- while you cannot prevent your PVR from showing the "screen-saver", you can set it to 4 hours before it does.

Does your TV actually turn off, or does it go "dark" -- into power-saving mode?  Is that a setting within your specific TV?

I turn off the television first with the television remot...

I turn off the television first with the television remote. That seems to work. After this, the streaming box will go into stand-by mode itself.

@michaelstein -- if you have configured your Shaw remote-control to control the TV (mute, volume up/down, power on/off) you do not need to find/use the TV's own remote. The POWER button on the Shaw/Rogers remote is sufficient.
