Our phone line is not working. It will dial, but you can barely hear anything. It sounds like it is far away, and lots of noise. It has been going since yesterday.
Sorry you're noticing that, there are a few things that could be causing this but we can certainly help. My first question is are you using a cordless phone? What you're describing can be caused by wireless interference which cordless phones can be susceptible to. Do you have any phones that are not cordless phones to test with?
They are all cordless. We don't have a corded phone to test with. They were all working perfectly fine until yesterday. We have had some bad weather since yesterday, and I am not sure if that is causing it.
There is a lot of noise on the line. I can barely here the person I am talking to. It does not matter if I call them or they call me.
If you don't have a corded phone to test with can you try connecting your phone directly to the phone terminal, as shown here? How to connect a phone directly to your Digital Phone Terminal
If you could describe the noise you're hearing in a bit more detail (e.g., crackling/static, a hum, robotic voice) that would be helpful as well.
A ton of static.
Hi cindy1. Are you still hearing the static on your phone? Have you followed [shaw]jeff's advice on connecting your phone direct to the phone terminal? This would help us determine whether it is your phone or the wiring between the phone terminal and the phone jacks.
