I think so! I think the forum should be categorized by device type first and then topic eg. HD Guide. It is frustrating not knowing where my or a friends piece of equipment is hiding in this forum which is so 1990's.
It kind of is,
HD Guide - for the devices using the HD Guide
Gateway - Gateway and Portals
and TV for the classic guide devices
it kind of is? that's like saying she's kinda pregnant. the current layout is mediocre.
all shaw has to do is visit other forums like digital canada to see how they're set up.
We always like hearing feedback specifically about our Community here, as we can generally make changes quite easily. The manner in which our forums and documents are laid out and separated is the result of trial and error. We've changed layout over time and have found that this format provides the best accessibility and manageability (so far anyway).
Thanks for the response. I know my request is a very simple one. Thank you for being candid and upfront with your comment.
Is changing the format on your to-do list? Or are you waiting until there is more participation in your forum before you move forward with suggestion?
Our Community here isn't static, so as we add new content, as new services or hardware are launched and as we receive feedback from our customers, we take a look at the bigger picture and review our current layout to ensure that it makes the most sense possible in terms of navigation, information accessibility, forum management from our end, and ease of use.
Having a forum for each device, overall doesn't really make the most sense at the moment. We have many pieces of hardware in addition to more than three types of internet modems as well, so rather than organizing by device, we generally organize by service. Since our HD Guide is more of a hot-topic though, based on feedback and the data on the posts we were seeing, we created a specific forum for the 3510 PVR and the 3200 HD Box. We also did this earlier for the Gateway.
Hopefully this helps answer your question.
The problem with that is there is no standard forum table of contents for a user to be be able to find relevant sub-forum/topics quickly.
