Setting up email on an iPad

Just got an iPad and finally got the incoming email to work but can't get the outgoing to work.  I am using the POP/STMP.  When I get a Delivery Fail Notice it says "Address rejected".  I am not a computer whiz so don't know what other info to give you.  I have followed the set up instructions from Shaw.
