I tried setting this up on my phone, no problem with the initial setup, but will not sync after that. Please let me know if anyone has some suggestions.
Seems our co-worker had the same issue on their Nexus 5 phone when trying to sync the email, based on the other reports here as well: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=61785 It looks the issue is not just limited to @shaw.ca email accounts. We'll investigate further at our end as well, hopefully Google has a fix for this soon.
On the email profile how many days is it set to sync?
I have it set to All.
Could you try 30 days? My Nexus phone seems to have that as the limit. And when I go past that and set it to 'All' I receive sync errors.
I tried all the options with no success.
Do you have the domain name entered for username?
For my @shaw.ca email i have the username as: shaw.ca\username
I had it as firstname.lastname@example.org, I switched it to shaw.ca\username, still the same. Is the server supposed to be wm.shaw.ca? That's what I have it set at, but when I do the initial setup, it's set as just shaw.ca.
Correct, wm.shaw.ca is the Exchange ActiveSync server.
Do you think you could post a screen of the error message?
What version of android is your phone running?
What is the mail app version? (Usually can find this in settings > apps > all > select mail)
I have the full settings for my phone as this:
Days sync: One month
Inbox: Automatic Push
Use secure connection (SSL): enabled
Accept all SSL certificates: disabled
Client certificate: none
I don't get any sort of error message.
I'm running 4.4 Kitkat.
When I go into Settings - Accounts - Corporate, it pulls up my Shaw email address and it is continuously syncing nonstop.
I think my mail app version is 6.0-893803
Not sure if this is confirmed 100% yet with this model of phone and exchange activesync servers, but it seems other people are reporting the same issue here and here.
Workaround for now, obviously not what you would prefer since it isn't push email, but for the time being POP/SMTP server is one option: https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-1064#solution1
Just thought of one other thing I can try, I'll directly message you to get your email address.
Make sure the Sync is enabled, maybe the Power-Saving mode is set to stop sync as well?
If you refresh your inbox, do your emails then come in? But it doesn't stay synced? or do they not come in at all?
I have the Auto-sync data enabled.
When I refresh the inbox, nothing at all happens.
We'll be following up on this after we can get some internal testing done with the Nexus 5.
Thank you for your patience.
I am having the same problem with my Nexus 5. After initial setup, it had no problem syncing the past months emails, but now nothing happens. Refreshing does nothing either.
I've just noticed something else: When I go to settings>accounts>corporate, the phone is constantly trying to sync.
I noticed that as well, drains your battery fast! I downloaded Mailwise, the settings seem identical to the native email on the Nexus 5, seems to work so far.
I have forwarded my Shaw email to my Gmail account until there is a fix from Google.
