Has anyone had any experience in setting up a Shaw email account with PostBox Express?
PostBox supports POP IMAP and SMTP, so it should work with pop.shaw.ca using port 110 and mail.shaw.ca using port 587 for the outgoing server if it needs it
But I haven't setup this software myself
HELP I use Postbox on my iMac and have had no problems with email@example.com until upgrading to OS X 10.11.1 El Captain. My @icloud, @gmail and @banffcentre (EXCHANGE Outlook) still work fine, and my wife's Shaw june@junehills, on shawcable.com (business), all work fine. But with @shaw I can receive but not send. My @shaw email still works fine in the browser webmail.shaw.ca. After fiddling around with settings, I deleted and then reinstalled the email and still nothing. Uninstalled Postbox, reinstalled as new (did not import settings) and still no success. I used the settings from here Email Setup Instructions, tried both POP and IMAP. Can't get it to work/sending email as POP or IMAP (receiving mail still does work).
Somehow, I got my own @shaw to work but not @shaw.ca. One setting is different: Authentication on bernie.hills is BLANK (nothing in that drop down menu), on june.hills, Authentication is PASSWORD. The error I get when sending is: Send Message Error. Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server smtp.shaw.ca timed out. Try again or contact your network administrator. Additionally, verify that your firewall or antivirus program is not preventing Postbox from sending email. Postbox support, after trying what they could, suggested I contact my ISP - did talk to Shaw on CHAT - still no solution. On my iPhone and iPad, no problem connecting as IMAP using Cloudmagic and the install was automatic. Any ideas? Bernie (403) xxx-xxxx firstname.lastname@example.org

Sorry to hear you're having trouble setting up your email accounts. Have you tried using leaving the authentication blank on the june.hills account? Based on all the info you provided, it sounds like that is the main difference in the settings so I'd test that out first. Email setup can be finickey so it might help to delete the settings for that account and start from scratch. Let us know how it goes!
Thanks - I haven't figured out how to leave authentication blank yet. The drop-down comes up PASSWORD and the choices are ENCRYPTED PASSWORD, Kerberos / GSSAPI, NTLM, 0Auth2. Blank isn't a choice at all, and I don't know how that ended up in authentication...

We found the following link for tips on setting up your Postbox with Apple Mail. Other than the authentication setting, have you checked the settings with your other devices that are working and tried changing the settings to match this with the device that is not working? You might also consider contacting Apple for assistance as well, as you have received support from both Postbox and Shaw and are still experiencing issues. Have you tried using these settings pop.shaw.ca using port 110 and mail.shaw.ca using port 587 for the outgoing server if it needs it?

Thanks Joel. I think I already tried this one (tried many config possibilities). Anyway, gave it another go and it won't even create the account. Also tried the settings that work in Cloudmagic - did not work. B
