I'm getting really frusterated with unreliable internet speeds and connectivety. Please fix!!!!! I'm really getting tired of paying for half a service that comes every evening. I just want what I pay for and you claim Shaw can provide.
I am not sure Shaw actually guarantees consistent speed. In fact, the existence of bandwidth caps tells you pretty explicitly that the advertised speed is intended to be "burstable speed".
The evening will be the peak traffic time. Maybe you are on a congested segment or something.
Getting slower or more inconsistent speeds than you should is a frustration for sure, but we can look into this with you. I don't know anything about your situation, so I'd like to just ensure that the basics have been covered here first. Have you tried all of the steps that we've got listed here? In addition to this, if you have our wireless modem, I would recommend that you try restoring it to defaults with step 3 here.
Can you also let us know what speed you've got as well as if you're seeing slowdowns at specific times, or could they occur at any time? Is this with wireless only or wired as well? Is this specifically a slow speeds situation, or are you seeing drops/intermittent connectivity?
This should be a good place to start and if it turns out that after trying these steps you're not seeing any improvement, we'll take a look at your modem from our end.
Tonight for example i'm rocking 1.97mbs download speeds right after a modem reset, and 2.2 up this has been going on for over a month and even by phone the answers I get are yup the area is full your pretty much buggered.
