I Have a black screen left corner of my tv how do I get rid of it

I've got a couple quick suggestions that may help. Try using the "Exit" button on your Shaw remote, or a similar button on your original TV remote (maybe Exit or Clear). Turning the TV off and back on would also be worth a try.
Is there any text at all in the black box? I've seen certain closed captioning settings cause similar issues. For that, I would recommend checking and turning off the closed captioning settings on the TV itself.

II'm very new to shaw it's not my tv and should I disconnect everything?

If it's just a blank black box then I'm unsure whether it's being produced by your cable box (from Shaw) or by your TV. Either is possbile.
Let's try unplugging the power from your cable box for a minute and then plugging it back in please. Give it a couple minutes to boot up and see if that makes a difference.
By the way, can you let me know which type of cable box you are using please?
I have this same issue with an Arris DCX3510-M. The only way to get rid of it is to disconnect power and reboot. I can recreate the problem by attempting record something on one of the PPV channels.
