Just switched from a BB to an iPhone and can't configure my business email. Personal worked fine with wm.shaw.ca. What is the business mail server?
Try checking here
Settings > Mail > down to Auto-Check under Messages
You should be able to select Manual, Every 15 minutes, Every 30 minutes, Every hour...
Which service is your business emails hosted on?
shawwebhosting.ca ? Or the older login that uses your account number and a password - I don't remember the management page, but I have been looking for a long time for it...
Or post the business domain, if you are ok with that being posted here, and I (or someone else) can look it up to see what the domain detail are
HI thanks yes it is webmail.shawhosting.ca
Here is the server information for your business email account with Shaw webhosting:
User Name: email address
Incoming: mail.shawhosting.ca Port :110
Outgoing: mail.shawhosting.ca Port :1025 (authentication enabled)
Please let us know if that works for you!
Username: email address with a + symbol instead of an @ symbol
POP mail.shawcable.com Port 110IMAP mail.shawcable.com Port 143
SMTP - I am not aware of a business server that will accept SMTP on port 587, so you may have to use mail.shaw.ca and use your @shaw.ca email address and password for sending emails - they will still show your business account
Edit: I read, webmail.shawhosting.ca as webmail.shawcable.com
What is the management website for creating more email addresses for employees, and such, do you know? This is the site I have forgotten and can't find
Thanks for your help as always but I just confirmed with one of the business reps here that the settings you have posted are no longer correct. Those old servers may direct to mail.shawhosting.ca but it would be best to use the new servers.
If you are with Shaw Hosting then you will want to log in here Shaw Business Web Hosting Services to create a new email address and mange existing ones.
Interesting, curious then, what did Shaw do with the customers using webmail.shawcable.com as that login still seems to work
Force them over to Shaw's new hosting services?
It just redirects. The older servers just point to the new ones.
Feel free to Dm me if you have any further questions and I will try my best to answer them or find a business rep who can.
Thank you this worked.
Although I didn't have to touch SSL or server port it just worked with the proper server names.
When I manually check it shows:
auth - MD5 Challenge-resp
Server port 993
Auth - passwd
Server port 1025
Should I adjust with your SSL and serv port settings?
Also this is an IMAP acct and only seems to fetch mail when you open the acct. Any way to have it PUSH like my shaw.ca exchange account so the emails show up automatically?
Thanks again for your advice.
Yes that works was just hoping for a short time.
Is changing the SSL and port a requirement for the mail setting?
No, SSL isn't required, if you have it working right now, don't bother trying to change the SSL settings
thank you both again!
