I have two remotes model #urc550 that are not working properly. Can I get replacements free or do I have to pay for new ones?

Our remotes all come with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty and isn't one of the pieces of equipment is covered under any extended coverage. Are these remotes less than 1 year old? They tend to lead a bit of a rough life between couch cushions and sticky fingers! If reach out to our call center for support they can give you a few options for replacing them (in warranty or out) and I think you'll find the cost is quite reasonable. I hope that helps!
