Desktop Connection Issues (Can not find DSN server)

So I'm having a problem with my desktop computer. I have it connected into my own router (via Wired connection), with the shaw modem (that also acts as a router) along side it. Any wireless connection seems to work fine, but when I boot up my desktop, I can't get any connection. When I try to resolve the issue, my computer tells me it can't find the correct DSN server address. Although, when I unplug both my router and the modem, wait a few seconds and then replug them, it starts working again. You can see how this is a pain, having to do this every time I boot up my PC. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. Thanks.
