Has anyone else experienced problems setting up SMTP for their iPhone email?

I've been trying to setup my SMTP outbound email on my iPhone for Shaw mail and cannot get it to recognize my account.

 

I can receive my emails just fine, but it says it doesn't recognize my username and/or password for the SMTP outgoing server.

I've followed the instructions and ensured the server is

> mail.shaw.ca

> port: 587

> SSL enabled

> password auth enabled

 

exact message:  "The user name or password for 'SMTP:xxxx@mail.shaw.ca' is incorrect"

 

---and yes, I've checked and verified I typed my password and username correctly.  (just to head off the obvious first question)
