I wanted to know if it possible to transfer a saved show from Motorola DCX 3400 to a USB.
There is a slot for USB on the PVR so just wanted to if I can just move a show to a USB.
This would be a great feature, but no there is not a way to transfer data off of a PVR. In addition to the USB port being disabled, the data stored on a PVR is encrypted so that other devices cannot read it. This is because a PVR is meant to be in an in-home device for personal use.
The USB connection port is not active on your PVR (this is due to copyright concerns) so this will not work.
Is there any way to transfer show then? I wanted to watch these on my laptop while I am traveling.
The Slingbox products could do this, would need internet access where you watch from
Or a TV capture product, play your show, record it with using a capture, saved to laptop
Thanks. Can i save a show from slingbox stream while watching it on laptop?
What " TV capture product" do you suggest for a win7 laptop? My knowledge is just basic and I need to save a 1 hour show from my shaw pvr. Thanks for any help.
this is why bit torrent was invented .. you want to watch that show on your laptop? download the program thru bit torrent ..
which software should I download? Is its name bit torrent?
Is there a website to tell me what should I do after downloading it,
I just want to warn you we do not allow any external links posted on the community. If you are looking for information on this it may be the best to go and search google for further information.
You can also find a lot of shows actually on the websites for the channels themselves! Watch TV series online | Survivor, NCIS - TV schedule - Global TV live you can go to and click on Full Episodes and get a lot of stuff. That goes for most other Canadian networks as well! That will be your easiest option.
so please let me know what should I search to find the link?!
does " bit torrent pvr ti tv" is a correct search in google?
Bit torrent is actually not something we support so it is not something we can really help with. If you just search around for that you should be able to find information.
Actually I have a 45 min show ( a part of CTV news 2 years ago) which is saved on my pvr. It is a report of my kid's accomplishment, I want to save it on a Dvd to be safe for future. Can you help me how can I do it?
You could hook your digital box to a DVD recorder if you have one or get one. Then run a cable from your DVR to the DVD recorder and record it that way. That would really be the only way to get the program off of the player. For torrenting there is almost no chance that would be found so likely not an option.
Another option would be to reach out to CTV in your area and inquire if they keep old videos. They may have it all saved and could make you a copy.
Thank you very much, I will get a dvd recorder and try it, probably easier it is than asking CTV.

You made an external link, which apparently isn't allowed anymore?
By asking those questions, Torrents are not the right solution for you.
