utorrent, usually responsive, now starts out a a few kbps, then drops to zero, both up and down. ??
I would start by checking to be sure that you have opened the port which uTorrent is using. In the settings for uTorrent, you can choose Setup Guide and run a test there. The second portion of the test will tell you whether or not the necessary port has been opened.
Thanks for the response. Tests show proper port open, and speed tests show 12M down, 500k up, few kbps actual d/l speeds sagging to zero over a few minutes. Several thousand seeds for desired items. Hmmmm.
Alright, yeah that's a bit strange then. There are times that we've throttled upload traffic for torrents, but not always, and we do not ever throttle the download. I would lean towards troubleshooting within your network, firewall, etc. If you have a router maybe try removing it and going direct to the modem just to narrow things down.
New WD N900 router. Search suggested that QOS was a problem with download speeds. So, I disabled QOS in the router, and normalcy has returned. Thanks for your help!
Excellent, glad you've things back on track. You're welcome!
