why is there a long delay in changing channels? Delay from remote to tv.
Alright. Well just to be sure, let's make sure the remote has new batteries. Beyond that, there could be an issue with the cable signal strength to your HD box. Please try the following:
That process of resetting can help clear up signal loss in many cases. If it doesn't help though, and you do have a splitter in place, can you let me know whether it's possible to remove that splitter?
I can help with getting this one figured out. Just a couple quick questions to help narrow it down first:
A 1-2 second or less delay is normal with the HD Guide. The program takes a moment to talk to the server and retrieve information. Compared to the old Guide is is noticeable, but it should not be "long". If the delay is longer than that there may be another issue.
There is a long delay, for example. i am on channel 7 and want to go to channel 12, I push 1 2 on the remote and the 1 appears on the tv after @ 4 seconds, then it disappears and the 2 will appear @ ten seconds later and therefore the tv is changed to channel 2 and not 12.
I see, thanks for clarifying. Is it like that every single time without question, or just occasionally?
It happens every single time.
I have disconnected and reconnected as your last post states. The HD box now reads as APP. Can /should I turn the tv on and how long will it take for the whole reboot process to complete.
Thanks for doing that. The reboot should take about two or three minutes. APP means it is reloading the Guide/Menu system, shouldn't take all that long but I'd give it five minutes at the most. It is fine to turn the TV on but you won't see any action until the box shows the current time on the front, at which time it can be powered on again.
So now the HD box shows the time and only the time! there is isn't the blue HD that appeared before and the tv is on and it says "No Signal"
If it's showing the time then it's ready to go, you just have to power the box back. Pressing CBL and then Power on the remote should do the trick. Or just the top-right power button if you're using a Champ remote.
Ignore the last post, once I pushed the cable button on remote everything seems to be ok now. Thank you.
Okay, good stuff Let me know if this has made any improvement to the response time between HD box and remote.
The response time is back to normal. Thank you.
