How do you know if you are on the right satellite using a satellite finder?
Let's see if our Shaw Direct moderator donovon can help answer this for you?
Look at your TV, is the only way
so when i look at the TV what do i look for
Depends on the model, but a green bar for starters, should have the name of the satellite it has 'locked' onto
Thanks for your post, I just want to make sure I understand what you're trying to do. Are you using an in-line satellite finder that produces a tone/image to indicate signal strength? If so, there is no way to confirm which satellite the finder is locked onto as it simply picks up signal and does not discriminate.
If you are trying to pick up signal using the Tune-In Satellite Signal on your Shaw Direct/Star Choice receiver, you must have your satellite dish aligned to our Anik F2 satellite (Coordinates registered as 111.1W ANIK F2 | WILDBLUE-1). You can confirm the dish elevation, azimuth and skew based on your postal code with several dish pointer websites.
Let me know what other information you require and I'll help out as best I can.
