I am looking at adding an expander to my 3510, are you able to share the make and model that you are using?
Western Digital 1 TB DVR Expander eSATA Edition, although other models will work as well.
This is a Shaw expander I assume. Can you give me a link to this on the website so I can order one.
If it works for you it will work for me:)
Thanks lordmelbury - I bought mine a few years ago and it appears we no longer sell them. Your best bet may be to look at some online retailers who sell external hard drives.
Some of our community members such as kevinds and gamerguy may be able to advise where to purchase these drives externally.
To copy&paste gamerguy's earlier post
If you wish, you can build your own.
You can use the Vantec Nexstar CX enclosure and an HDD of your choice. (Up to 4TB with the CX.)
I just bought an AV-GP drive (Designed for DVR/PVR use.) for my CX enclosure seeing my 1.5TB Seagate died recently.
Something like this:
Western Digital WD AV-GP 2TB
Western Digital WD AV-GP 3TB
(AV-GP drives are recommended but not mandatory.)
Being in Edmonton, I'd look at getting the same products from MemoryExpress,
Velocity Elite Series 3.5in Enclosure Ver 3, USB 2.0, eSATA, SATA III at Memory Express
WD 3TB Digital AV-GP SATA II Hard Drive w/ 64MB Cache at Memory Express
I don't see the 2TB but they do list the 1TB and 500GB drive
WD 1TB Digital AV-GP SATA II Hard Drive w/ 64MB Cache at Memory Express
