How can I fix or reset the atlas remote?
Hmm, what kind of cable box have you got? If you have any buttons on the front, can you try pressing a channel button or power button to see if it's responding?
If not, you can try power cycling (resetting it). If you have one of our new HD Guide boxes, you can hold the power button for a few seconds until it turns off. If you have one of our older cable boxes, you can simply remove the power cable for 30 seconds and plug it back it.
See if that works.
If the remote is working to control your TV but no longer works to control the cable box, you can try reprogramming it by pressing CBL, holding SETUP and pressing 1376. CBL should blink twice after entering that code. Let me know if that works for you.
Our 3510 box stopped responding to our Atlas remote the other night. We cycled the box 3x and I found this article to reset the remote. Either the cold boot or the reset worked as we have control over our cable box again but .. tonight we fond that the 30 second skip and the Music buttons (the two reserved macro buttons) no longer work - no red lights when they are pressed.
Could the reset have wiped out the macros? How do we reprogram them back into these two buttons?
You can use the following steps to program the Music button on the remote.
1. On the remote control, press CBL once it will blink once. Then press and hold SETUP until the CBL key blinks twice.
2. Enter 9 9 5. The CBL key will blink twice. 3. Press Music button 4. Press CBL once, followed by the channel number to be programmed 401 5. Press and hold SETUP until the CBL key blinks twice
To program the Skip button, you can try the following:
1. On the remote control, press CBL once it will blink once. Then press and hold SETUP until the CBL key blinks twice. 2. Enter 9 9 4. The CBL key will blink twice. 3. Press SETUP once (don’t hold down), it will blink once. 4. Enter 00173, then press Skip. You should see the CBL button flash twice if it accepted.
*Note, this may not work if the model on the back of the remote is 1056B03, you may not see the CBL blink twice after entering 994. This means it will not be able to be programmed correctly.
The remote is a model 1056B03.
Looks like neither code for programming the macro will work.
I've tried the Music twice and you're right about the Skip method (no light after code 994).
I'm guessing the factory reset code wiped out a firmware upgrade that programmed that button. If I took the remote into a Shaw store would they be able to apply the update?
Hi there graphyte
Looks like this one wasn't completely resolved. I understand you're still having issues with the Skip, Page, and Music buttons on the remote, is that correct?
Can you give the following a try and let me know if it helps please?
1.) Press the CBL button once
2.) Press and hold the Setup button until the CBL button blinks twice
3.) Enter code 982, the CBL button will blink 4 times
4.) Press CBL button
5.) Press and hold the Setup button until the CBL button blinks twice
6.) Enter 1376
7.) Press power to test whether the code has worked.
Once you have completed the reprogramming, lock the CBL button by repeating steps 1-3 (the CBL button will blink twice to confirm)
Tried, but didn't work, any other ideas?
Remote flashed after just as you said. Touched the Cbl button then held the setup button while I pressed 1376. Remote did flash twice. Still didn't work.
Cable box is actually stuck on a channel and can't be changed if that helps in the diagnoses?
Motorola,HD Dual Tuner DVR. I tried to get the box to respond, no luck. I'll try reset by unplugging the unit.
The reset worked. It's alive again, the wife will be happy. Thanks
Good work, glad to hear it's back to normal!
Hi, so you dont hold the setup button when adding the code.
