I just started using shawgo wifi and I'm very happy with this new service. But right my cellphone can not connect to shawopen it's prompting an error message that says "Authentication error occured".
Hope for a quick reply for this one.
The gain off the antennas of the APs we use outdoors is pretty powerful. Sometimes at a distance of 100m the signal from your phone will not reach back to the AP, hence you cannot sign on. This is a limitation with Wifi, power levels, devices, and etc.
I expect that if you move closer your device will sign on normally.
Which access point are you trying to connect to?
I think Jasper Outdoor. Wifi zone. It's the closest to where I am according to the map.
Any idea how far you are from the WiFi zone?
If you are able to connect to the WiFi network "ShawOpen", then go to this page in your browser to authenticate yourself: https://wifisignon.shaw.ca/
No I can't connect to the access point. probably I'm at 100 meters from the access point and i get 2 bars on signal.
Yes the problem was the distance thank you for the help and answering really quickly.
