Terrible gateway experience

I have 2 portals on my gateway.  One of them I just recently got.  I spend half of my viewing time watching a blank screen, or waiting for the portal to respond to almost any action I do on my remote.  It is like dealing with an old 486 computer.  Is anyone else having problems like freeze ups or waiting for a minute for the channel to change?.............everything is so slow, I am fed up.
