Couldn't access to internet since Saturday night. My computer says "limited" connection and Youtube video got interrupted. Any thoughts on this?
Hey there dragonjt
I can definitely take a look into this for you. Limited connectivity can happen for a few reasons, not all that hard to fix though depending on what the actual problem is.
If it's only one computer or only happening over WiFi, I'd suggest starting by disconnecting from the WiFi network on your computer, and then reconnecting to it from scratch so that you have to enter your WiFi password again. If it's happening on all computers (including wired connections) then there could be a larger issue such as your modem being offline.
Let me know about the details I've mentioned so far and we'll go from there.
I tried my cell phone and it was extremely slow and no WIFI connection many times. For the laptop, I also tried to disconnect and connect - although the signal bars came back on, as soon as I used a website e.g. Google, Youtube, it went offline again. I only have one computer in the house.
Are you using your own router with our modem? Sounds like you might need to re-create the connection between the two by unplugging both, plug in the modem (wait for the lights) and then plug in the router.
If you are using one of our wifi modems, simply powercycle it by unplugging it and the plugging it back in. Once all this is done, let us know what lights you so on the modem and/or router and we can go from there.
Hi again dragonjt
Have you made any progress on this with Andrews suggestions?
Hi, I un/plugged the Shaw modem and it did the trick. Thanks for your support.
