How do I delete programs from PVR that have been 'stuck' on there for months?
I understand your concern, removing the power will not reformat the hard drive, that's a separate procedure.
Removing the power from the PVR is about the same as restarting your computer, so it should not delete all the programs you have recorded.
What model of PVR do you currently have?
List of boxes: Shaw Digital Boxes - Equipment Guide
It says Motorola on bottom of box ... does that help?
Any idea if it says on the front of the unit DCX3400 or DCX3510 or DCT3416 etc?
Can you find it in this article here: https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-1232 and let me know the model # for the box that matches yours?

SORRY ... Number on front of box is: DCX3400-M
Ok, you should be able to fix this I believe by going to the DCX3400-M and removing the power cord from it temporarily for about 10-15 seconds, then re-connect the power.
After the PVR has rebooted, it will take a few minutes to reload the software and the guide information will show To Be Announced but that will come back automatically as it downloads the information again.
Once the box has rebooted and the menus have reloaded try deleting the recording again.
Thank you. But, will this delete ALL the programs I have recorded?
I just want to delete a few that have been 'stuck' for months & want to save some recent ones until all members of my family have viewed.
... waiting for 'to be announced' to clear ... any idea how long this takes?
Thank you so much!
To be announced, should take about 30 minutes to partially load some of the information and about 24 hours for the rest of the days to load.
