USB Device not Recognized

I own a Motorola SB5102 from Shaw. My PC thinks it's a wireless modem. In Control Panel it shows up as an "Internet Access Server" and will not let me un-install. When an application from the internet tries to access the modem through the USB port it interferes with the operation of my Microsoft USB Optical mouse. I regularly get the message "USB Device not recognized" and my mouse stops operating and causes a USB_BUG Blue screen crash. Can anyone help? Is there a specific driver for the SB5102 modem. Windows plug and play is not installing the correct device.
