Sorry to hear you're experiencing that challenge. In most cases this can be resolved by resetting your phone terminal as shown here Performing a DPT Pin-hole Reset.

can someone please help? I'm using my iphone to try and get help as my home phone is not working. There is dial tone but after I dial, I just get dial tone
Did you try the steps in the article that [shaw]jeff linked? A pin-hole reset would be the first place we want to start troubleshooting.
My landline is just a phone. It's not a DPT phone
Sorry, maybe there is some confusion there. a digital phone terminal (DPT) is the device we provide you that is how you get service from us. Somewhere in your home we installed this device and it takes the coaxial signal and sends it through your phone jacks to your handsets.
You'll have one of two models; Arris or Motorola. This is the device we'll want to do the pin-hole reset on as it is what allows you to get phone service from us.

Yes, the issue has been resolved. We called the support line using a cellphone and Shaw did a reboot or something on their end. And yes, I finally found the device. The installer placed it underneath the end table, so I never knew it was even there.
