No dial tone.. phone has not been working the entire day
I would recommend to first check to make sure that there are lights on your phone terminal. If not, check to make sure that the power cord is secure on both the phone terminal and the wall socket.
If there are lights, are there 4 solid lights or are some of them flashing? If some are flashing, reconnect the coaxial cable on the phone terminal and the wall outlet. If there are 4 solid, is the TEL1 light flashing or solid? If it's flashing, it could indicate that a phone is off hook or that there is a wiring issue with the jack.

If you are in Edmonton,, Alberta, I think it is not an internal problem. Yesterday we were told it was a widespread outage. I spent two prolonged periods on chat - first with Val, and then with Matthew, both of whom were in Vancouver. Matthew said he has now reported my issue with ticket #782505 and that it was high priority. Why would they be looking at this on a 'case by case' basis?? Doesn't seem to make sense to me.
