How do I disable Link light on Cisco DPC3825?
I am also having trouble setting up mail on the Macbook pro. It receives mail, and cannot send mail. I tried the Support to find no solutions that worked, so now I am here. Thank you.
Did you want to look at bridging the Cisco so it acts as a modem only? Or did you simply want to know how to disable the link light? It lights up when there is any wireless activity happening (which, if you have wireless enabled, could be at any time). It should be deactivated if the modem is in bridge mode, which we could do from here if you have your own router.
As for Mac Mail, when you try to send mail are you receive any error messages? Would you be able to go into your outgoing settings and check the server port to ensure that it's manually entered at 25 or 587 (not the auto port selection option)? Try both to see if one works (it depends on how you've got it set up).
If you're still having trouble sending though, just let us know and we'll help you out.
Hi Corbin, No, I prefer no wifi. I ended up phoning Shaw Tech Support and they turned link off. They also helped with mail I had settings right but I didn't know I had to backtrack on pswd and stpm settings to save the settings. Thank you though, a response is encouraging.
Bridged mode. Gotcha! Enjoy.
Hi Matt, I ended up phoning Shaw Technical Support this morning. My settings were correct but had to backtrack with pswd and stpm in order to save settings. Also, turning off link light was done by Tech support through the office. I could not have done it. Thank you for your response, greatly appreciated.
Nice g.d, happy to hear you got everything sorted out.
