The sound on ALL the CBC channels is off. Sometimes it is worse than other times.
This is an ongoing issue.
What can be done about this?
Good morning gammonite
I just checked CBC Vancouver and Ottawa here in the office in Vancouver and the audio is in sync. Do you have another TV in the house you can check? Also, what City do you live in?
I live in Morden, Manitoba. It happens on all TVs that I connect. I have tested this. I only have one connected to the PVR though. Just to re-iterate, it only is happening on the CBC stations - all of them.
gammonite, just to clarify your reply, is the issue happening on TVs which are connected directly to cable (without a box) or only when they are connected to your PVR? Do you have multiple cable boxes in the house, or just the one?
I don't have cable.
No idea what a cable box is. I don't have cable. Only one TV connected to the PVR. It is a new TV. Same problem on the old TV. Very noticeable on ALL CBC channels when the National is on. Exceptionally annoying.
If we understand this correctly, you have a Shaw PVR (Motorola, Pace or Arris) connected to one TV. And just coaxial cable from the wall outlet connected directly to the other TV?
Which model of PVR do you have? And does this audio sync issue happen just at particular times of the day or night?
I have a Shaw (it was StarChoice before) connected directly to my dish. The PVR is a Motorola 630. It is connected to a single TV and nothing else.
As I what the National on channel 390, the sound sync is off so much it is hardly watchable. I never watch TV during the day, just evening.
This happens on ALL the CBC channels. However, watching he Olympic broadcasts on CBC seems not to suffer this sound delay.
Is it just The National? Or all/most of the CBC programs that the sound is out of sync?
Ah, you're with Shaw Direct! We'll have our talented Shaw Direct moderator donovon get back to you as soon as possible.
Sorry to hear about the sound issues on the CBC channels - I have checked a few of the receivers here in Calgary and notice no delay. Have you attempted any troubleshooting to help solve this problem prior? You've mentioned the sound is 'off'. Does the sound come in before or after the picture? Also, how long has this been happening for?
