My father-in-law was just transferred to Shaw to internet/phone (has always been on shaw cable). Thankfully we are visiting this weekend (long distance trip) - because the Shaw tech who did the install and setup the email /router must have been in a rush. My father in law is 79 - technology is not his thing.
Wifi - rather than setting it up to his old SSID and password - was just left with a numbered network name/password - 10 seconds of time to fix
Email - tech removed the telus account, added the shaw account in windows live mail - however this means all his saved email is gone. This has caused alot of frustration and concern on his part. I am restoring the email now.
I really hope this is an anomaly for Shaw service techs, a few simple steps would have eliminated the issues he encountered. If more information is wanted - I will look for a PM. I don't think it is appropriate to share the name of the city, tech name, etc in the public forum.
