My Shaw Gateway system only skips 15 min when using the skip fwd or skip back buttons, even though I have it setup for 30 seconds in setup. Anyone else running into this?
Just to clarify, which buttons on the Gateway remote are you pressing?
The "next" and "back" buttons
Use skip and replay instead.
Right next to the play button.
That should do the trick.
One thing I should note though is the settings on the portal only apply to skip (forward progress) and not replay (going backwards).
Back and Next is used for chaptering and is set to 15 minutes.
Skip as ali mentioned is configurable in settings, however replay is set to 7 seconds.
Thanks very much for the info guys. This helped me. I've been using Logitech Harmony remotes with both Portals and I see that the >>| and |<< buttons were indeed mapped to CHAPTER UP and CHAPTER DOWN. I needed to manually learn the IR signals from the SHAW remotes SKIP and REPLAY buttons, then assign those instead. Now both remotes work great. Thanks!
I'm having the same problem and I used the original Shaw remote to "teach" the Harmony both skip and replay but I'm not sure what to do after that regarding assigning them? They seem to connect and the command was learned but when I went to use the Harmony no change so I'm obviously missing a step after the "learning". If you could help I'd certainly appreciate it.
There are a few great help articles on Harmony's support site for this. One that looks like it may help you can be found here: Add/Teach Harmony a missing command - Harmony Support There's a few other links at the bottom of that page as well if this doesn't do the trick.
Let us know how that goes!
